    Trick of the Day

I have decided to post a 15-second video clip to Instagram on a daily basis.

They are impromptu, not fully-fleshed out routines. Just one-off "tricks."

Please allow me to introduce to you to...

    "Trick of the Day"

ADDED NOTE: My ToTD doesn't have a particular theme. I am a "general purpose" magician. Here, you will see me perform card tricks, coin tricks, rope tricks, and a whole slew of magical variety. Cheers!

Thanks for the kind words. It means a lot. I don't typically perform sitting down, so that was an extra challenge for me. I was working in uncharted territory for myself. That clip must have taken at least 20 takes before I got it right.

Video certainly exposes all the sins, doesn't it! LOL! That's not necessarily a bad thing though.

    Anyway - thanks again!

Here's Saturday's "Trick of the Day."

Without further ado, I give you "Shade"...

    http://instagram.com/p/0N6r7ZMFCm/

P.S. - I am well aware that the name of the trick isn't "Shade". I change the names on purpose to reduce the risk of exposure...

P.S.S. - There's not a TotD for Sunday - I was too busy sight seeing with the girlfriend down in Monterey, CA...

P.S.S.S. - Kudos to my girlfriend for filming this. She did a great job and was exceedingly patience with me through all the takes. I'd love to share some of the blooper reels from this one, but I can't due to risk of exposure - It's pretty funny though! Take my word for it! LOL!

Today, I present to you "LIFESAVERS."

It's cut a bit short thanks to Instagram's 15-second limit, but I think there's enough bits to show what's happening.

P.S. - For those of you who have followed my "Gospel Magic" threads in the past, the final silk production is in the sequence of the wordless book... Yellow, Black, Red, White and Green...

For St. Patrick's Day, I give you... "Ring on Rope"

    http://instagram.com/p/0V0pxQsFJN/

At least my shirt is green, right?

OK - So this isn't exactly a knuckle-busting super thrilling trick. Most people can probably figure it out in a matter of seconds, but it does take some knack to make it work.

Nonetheless, this trick plays well in walk-around as a one-off and for kids shows. ;-)

I'm still working on the "aerial" version of this where the ring goes upwards!

Perhaps one day I'll master that and post it here!

    Silver Copper Coin Vanish

This "trick" is actually just the "end" of a trick.

Because of Instagram's 15-second video limitation, you only get to see the "final phase" of a 4 phase coin routine.

    But hey - it's something. Right? ;-)

Ok - This is absolute sillyness. It's a "sucker / gag" trick.

    ENJOY!

Thank you for the kind words.
This thread is proving to be a challenege.

The number 1 challenge is finding an appropriate trick that can be properly delivered within Instagram's 15-second time frame.

The number 2 challenge is showing a wide range of diversity. The world is saturated enough with card flourishes and color changes. I want to show ALL types of magic, not just cards.

Sure, I could have used YouTube. But I find that Instagram is a great way to built interest and drive traffic. So I'll save YouTube for more formal performances.

Again - Thanks for the positive feedback.
