Al Koran - *MAGIC LEGENDS presented by Lee Asher*

    AL KORAN

Al Koran (1914 - 1972) was a British mentalist, author and inventor. Al Koran was the stage name of Edward Doe, who was a former hairdresser that turned professional magician/mentalist. In 1945, he became the youngest member ever to be awarded London Society of Magicians Gold Medal. It was after this that he selected the stage name Al Koran and make magic a full time job.

Later in life, Al Koran emigrated to the United States in January 1969, first to Cleveland, Ohio then later settling in Chicago, Illinois. He appeared many times on the Ed Sullivan show.

Al Koran is considered by most mentalists to be one of the best to have ever performed, along with the great amount of material that he contributed to the field.

Watch Al Koran perform one of the most powerful mentalism sets ever recorded on the Ed Sullivan show.

Al Koran is one of my favorite for "old school" mentalism and magic to watch. The guy was just solid all around.

    Awesome find Lee!

    My pleasure guys.

This set is so good... on so many levels.

Apparently, Ed Sullivan was not an easy man to fool. Now listen to what he says at 3:48.

    I love this set!

Al Koran was a true master of his craft.

I really enjoy how he carries himself throughout the set. He's so relaxed and "friendly". He doesn't come off as an arrogant performer who is above the audience. Instead, the mentalism seems to just "happen" naturally and he's enjoying it along with the audience.

Awesome Video Lee. Where are you getting these from? I have been adding them to my classic magic acts archives, and would love as much as I can get.
