Cardistry - Recommended DVD's and Learning Tools

Thank you for taking your time to check this thread.

I am new to cardistry and I've been working at performances for a month now.
I would like to gather some resources for myself and for others new to cardistry that we can gain more skill and knowledge of cardistry tricks.

If you have a suggestion for a resource for learning Cardistry, please feel free to share! Thanks!

I hate to be the one who says this but youtube is one of the worst teaching tools out there for anything. There are THOUSANDS of videos out there on the double lift and maybe 2 of them are legitimatly even "passable" for decent. I advise anyone looking in any part of magic to stear clear of the youtuber's out there; pretty much you are garenteed picking up a bad habit that is hard to break. I don't want to sound like a "snob" or anything it's just the cold hard truth of the matter you are FAR better off getting a cheap but well structured learning tool such as Royal Road to Card Magic or the like.

You can learn some awesome cuts and flourishes from:
    Theory 11
Dan and Dave's One Demand and trainging videos
    De'vo
    Daniel Madison

I'm not the biggest flourisher out there but I'm a big fan of Dan and Dave's material and also Daniel Madison's. I'm much more into card magic than that but both of them offer some fantastic "easy" flourishes as well as advanced.

I think Crash Course 1&2 as well as Ninja 1&2 are the best DVDs on Cardistry to start with. You will learn moves that is required for many tricks. I own all of them and must say that they are the best. If I didn't buy it, I might not be able to perform like I am performing now. You will not be able to find detailed tutorial on those moves in the DVDs on youtube and other video. I recommend picking them up NOW!!!!

    Regards,

    Shane

i'm not sure but i think you may have "cardistry" and "card magic" mixed up a little.
crash course 1 + 2 teach card magic, like magic tricks and moves, if your looking into cardistry, like flourishes then i agree with pancakes, look into some of dan and daves stuff and have a look around theory 11.

again though, you-tube won't do anything for you.

    all the best.

Most everyone interested in non-magical flourishing gets their start from De'vo's Xtreme Beginners. The video is filled with excellent instruction of the basics, and Jerry Cestkowkski's fanning workshop is unmatched. Also, Rich Ferguson released a highly underrated DVD about basic card flourishes. His video is taught mainly for poker players wanting to learn some of the basics of table flourishes, but it has a lot of valuable tips for magicians and card handlers alike.

As for YouTube videos, there are thousands upon thousands of guys who think they are good teachers, but are really terrible. There is no better place to learn a flourish than from the creator.
