    Who was your Inspiration

In this thread, just name who your inspiration was or still is, that made you get into magic. Maybe you dont have one but just decided to get into magic.

My Inspiration is Criss Angel, I watch his show everytime it comes on. He really inspired me to get into magic jus by watching the amazing things he does and the reaction on people faces.

Also David Blaine is another one of my inspirations that got me started in magic.

I have always enjoyed watching criss angel's and daivd blaine's performances on TV. However, my inspiration came from watching the Illusionist and the Prestige. Although these dealt more with stage magic instead of streat magic, it started to make my mind work in the background on ways to do clever illusions. After about a month or so of this going on in my mind, I broke down and bought the loops dvd's along with a few packages, some card decks like the ghost, black tiger and viper, a black tiger gaff deck, and the m5 with the raven. Ever since then i've been secretly practicing and performing for my #1 audience... the mirror. lol I'm anxious for my first real audience, but I don't want to be like these kids I see on you tube who buy gimmicks or learn tricks and perform them so horribly that the secret is blown. Anyways, that's my inspiration!

Sadly it was Criss Angel. I can't change the past. He use to be my hero until he disappointed me.

If you know magic and don't perform, that's like being Superman and not saving people.

David Copperfield ( I fell in Love with Magic, but did not think I could ever do that)

David Blaine ( I fell in Love with Street Magic and finally realized I can learn )

Rene Lavand ( I fell in Love with his presentation and simplicity of Magic )

-Criss Angel (still one of my heros, even though i know he kind of fake)
    -The Illusionist (movie)
    -The Pristeige (movie)
    -Illusionist Jared Hall
So these are my top influences, although i'm not into magic anymore (was converted to XCM, thank-you De' ;) if it were not for the above influences i wouldn't have started magic and eventually started XCM, and no i do not hold anything against magicians just because i'm an XCMer, magic still facinates me and i enjoy watching it, wether it be live or on tv or even in a movie.

well, for me, there was my dad's old friend, who showed me all these tricks when i was little. then there were those best magician in the world specials that were on every single year. when i saw david blaine, i just thought he was the fricking devil. as of currently, dai vernon is the guy who got me deeper into this rabbit hole.

I could tell you, but that would ruin it for you. Don't pm me because I still won't tell. All I can say is that he is not who I thought he was.

I just think it's because he got weird on us. He does stunts every episode, which I don't like either... He doesn't do much street magic anymore...

I don't think that could have ruined it for you, but if it did, sorry...

I used to like some of Criss Angels stuff. But he got boring and silly too fast. He does too many stunts and rarely does any actual street magic. Also he tends to shove the fact that he doesn't hire any "actors" or that anything is pre arranged down everybodies throats.
