    Box Monster with no Box?

I have been looking at box monster for quite some time, and i have come to the conclusion that it looks awesome and I absolutely have to have it. I don't think any force of nature at this point could possibly stop me from ordering it. I am flat broke at the moment, however, and while I am scraping my measly 30 bucks together, i figure i would ask this question to satisfy my curiosity.

If a spectator has a deck they want you to use, and it is a souvenier type deck that comes in a plastic case instead of a box, how much of the effect can you still do with it? I am sure you could still do the spread rise, right? But for the first rise, do you actually need a card box, or could you use any type of holding container with a similar size, or simply hold the cards. I am not sure how often this situation would actually occur, I just figured I would ask anyway.

you can do the 2nd rise/spread wise no matter what kind of box you use

however for the 1st..i'm 90% sure any kind of box works as well..my 10% doubt is the material of your box..how tough/hard is it..it should work since you mention its a plastic kind of box

You can just as easily do it without a box although I think the box adds a lot to the effect.
