    Oh, what to get...

Hey there everyone. I am fairly new to magic (actually very new) and own HTDSM, CC1 and IM, so I already know a few sleights and moves.

I am planning to next make a purchase including Revolution, Shapeshifter, and either Kard Klub or Xtreme Beginnerz. I know these two DVD's can't really be compared, as one teaches sleights and tricks, and the other teaches flourishes and XCM, but I was just wondering what you guys thought I should get first (I'm going to get both eventually.) I know both are quality DVD's. I'm bad at decision-making.....:)

    Cheers,
    Nick.

    I'd say Kard Klub.

I've watched that DVD more than I have any other. The material is great, and it gives you some really good insight into how to get the most out of your presentations. Even though the DVD focuses on 2CM (which, by the way, is taught really well--I've never been caught, and I perform it everyday), the way Brad analyzes the different performers will benefit all of your magic. Kard Klub will help you get better reactions with everything you've learned from HTDSM, IM, and CC1.

Personally, I'm not too crazy about XB. It has some good material on it, but the DVD seems more interested in presenting the material in a flashy style (a pair of hands doing flourishes to techno music while short [and I mean short] explanations are subtitled below) than in teaching you as thoroughly as possible.

So you don't think I should get Kard Klub at all?

By the way, which is easier in your opinion, CC2 or Ninja?

    Thanks,
    Nick.

Ok, thanks Exitmat. I can also kind of imagine how boring it might get a bit tedious analysing some 10 different versions of the Charlier Cut :)

    Cheers,
    Nick.

Ok, thanks for that orr22. But what's your opinion of my initial question? Kard Klub or Xtreme Beginnerz (look at my original post).

Crash Course 2 teaches the wonderful, fantastic Ambigious Card Routine, and a lot of ways to do it, and handle the cards in general.

Ninja 1 is on a higher level of skill, and things will go a bit faster and wont be explained that much, since it is made for people who are intermediate.

I'd say, get Crash Course 2 AND XB, and then you'll know a lot of sleights and a lot of cool flourishes ;)

So you wouldn't recommend getting Kard Klub? Come on, you have to admit 2 Card Monte is pretty good.

Oh yeah, I've figured out 2 Card Monte alright, but I am still going to get Kard Klub because it teaches you presentation and showmanship and other useful things.

    Depends

It depends on what you are looking for buddy. If you want to get a more rounded arsenal of tricks, go for kard club, if you want to get into flourish, go for XB. If you can figure out how tricks work, you can probubly get around teaching yourself how to do flourishes, by watching clips. I always go with strong weapons first, than flashy stuff later. Hope this helps. Also check out Daniel Garcia's Project Volume One. It has some pretty cool effects. Satisfaction Guaranteed and Personal Safe are really strong and easy to perform.

    Just my 2 cents
